The government agency revealed that the United States witnessed the addition of 295,000 new positions during February, 2015. This increase caused the unemployment rate to fall to 5.5%, attaining the lowest rate since 2008. On the other hand, the figure relating to the number of workers facing long term unemployment remained unchanged. Some 31.1% of all unemployed workers fall into this category, which lists those who have not held a paid position in the past 27 weeks. Additionally, the labor participation rate did not improve.
The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics released figures indicating positions that will be in high demand during the next decade.
